Masoud Asgharnezhad namini is a santour player, educator, and Iranian classical music artist whose practice spans nearly three decades. Since 1996, he has trained extensively under prominent masters of the santour and pursued formal academic studies in music, developing a deep and nuanced understanding of Persian musical traditions.
In 2010, he founded Hamseda Music Academy in Tehran, where he collaborated with fellow artists and educators to create a dynamic learning environment. Over the years, he has taught hundreds of students of different ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced musicians, and has remained actively engaged in a wide range of cultural and artistic events.
Now based in Toronto, he continues to teach santour while expanding his artistic practice within a diverse and multicultural context. His work explores meaningful dialogue between the richness of Persian classical music and contemporary sound, while remaining rooted in tradition and dedicated to the transmission of this musical heritage.
